Biography
My research looks at the boundary where intention becomes action, in the domain of speech. How, when, and under what conditions are speech plans realized as articulatory and acoustic events? I carry out this work through a novel coupling of psycholinguistic tasks (word reading and, more recently, conversation analysis) with inexpensive articulatory measurement (using motion-tracked video).
